Synopsis
Sometimes dead isibetter.

For most families, moving is a new beginning. But for the Creeds, it could be the beginning of the end. Because they've just moved in next door to a place that children built with broken dreams, the Pet Sematary. It's a tiny patch of land that hides a mysterious Indian burial ground with the powers of resurrection. Master Of The Macabre, Stephen King, will take you and the Creeds to hell and back. (But the Creeds don't have return tickets.) Your tour guide is kindly old Jud Crandall (Fred Gwynn), the neighborhood nice guy who knows the secrets of life, but has seen enough to firmly believe that "sometimes dead is better."

Empire Review
One of the better king films! - 3.75 out of 5  (9/19/2000)
"Sometimes Dead is better!" These words come to haunting life as the central point of "Pet Semetary." It's a cruel fact to say the least but it makes perfect sense in the context of the film. The film does have its ups and downs. It a creepy film that was adapted from the bleakest Stephen King novel written. The acting is a bit hammy at times and hard to swallow and the pacing is not very good as the film tends to drag in the beginning and then move far too quickly in the climactic ending.   more >>

Chilling good fun!! King Scores!! - 3.75 out of 5  (9/20/2000)
Though the plot is very simple, age old tale that still chills the best of us today, Stephen King's PET SEMATARY sets the marks high. I loved this film even as a teenager, the overall tone and setting of the film alone offers much insight into the inner dread the is stirring beneath. The two major flaws I found to this film was the fact that the important scenes seem too tied together making the film fit into the hour and a half time slot, the characters run into crisis before you even get to   more >>
